What should I expect to see?
What comes out of the uterus depends on pregnancy length.
For pregnancies under 7 weeks, bleeding and large blood clots will be expelled, and sometimes it may be possible to see the gestational sac. It can look like a white streak or a piece of sponge. From 8-12 weeks it may be possible to notice an embryo or fetus. An embryo at 9 weeks is about 2 cm and can look like a small ball of harder tissue. After 12 weeks the fetus will be seen.
